I DEMONSTRATE STRENGTHS IN THESE COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AREAS, SKILLS AND/OR ATTITUDES

Competency 1,2,3, 8 : For my fourth stage, I had the opportunity to create, plan, and execute lessons in French by myself with no
help. I created worksheets, games, lessons, and activities in French. I was placed in an immersion classroom; therefore, I would
always speak French, and if my students had issues with some words I would either give them a synonym of the word itself or
described them. I am very proud of all the lessons plan I have created in my FE4. I created them keeping in mind the progressions of
learning, and I tried to add fun activities to them so that it keeps students entertained whilst learning. I made sure to always put an
element of culture in my lessons too. For instance, instead of giving students a random reading test, I gave them a reading test on
Black History Month in Canada, etc.

WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS AND SHOW CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITH:

Competency 5 : Evaluate learning - would like to learn how to evaluate various learnings by creating rubrics and complex exams. For my FE4, I created some simple exams and evaluations, but I would love to learn about creating more various kinds of evaluations and more complex ones like in mathematics. I will do so by looking at examples online and listening to various podcast on the subject.

 

Competency 6: Manage how the class operates - In my future classroom, I will try and use various new technics on class management such as different systems like a token system. There is a plethora of different ways to manage a classroom, thus I want to explore them and find the ones that work best for me. I will do so by experimenting with different technics learned at school and in my field experiences.

Competency 9 : Be actively involved as a member of the school team - Even though I did collaborate for some of our school's project during my FEs, in the future I would love to start a club in the school to introduce students to new things outside of the curriculum. For instance, I crochet, and I would love to teach it some students. This is something that I will plan ahead and ask for approval by the school principal. My goal is to become more involved in the school.

Competency 12: Mobilize digital technologies - Technology is always evolving and offers incredible opportunities to teach in our classrooms. Sadly, I am not the best at technology, thus I will take a class to learn how to mobilize technology better and I will always make sure to stay up to date with new evolving technologies.
