Digital Media Product

Here is an assignement where I analyzed the media platform of Quizlet and its advantages in education.

Instructions :Students will find/choose a technology, typically one that is not showcased in class, and create a media product with it that supports/extends ‘your students’ learning. Once the technology is selected and the media product is created you will connect the media and the expected learning to: our coursework (Critical Media, equity and access, SAMR, Blooms), and justified with your rationale for choosing this tech to support ‘your students’ learning

Critical Media Product

This essay, my teamates and I worked on a World Wide issue: Coltan mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We evaluated three different point of view involved in the issue.

In this Critical Media Product (CMP) assessment, student-teachers (STs) are tasked with conducting a critical exploration of an event (of their choosing) as covered by the media. STs are expected to use critical media literacy skills, such as analyzing discourses, codes, and conventions, criticizing stereotypes, dominant values, and ideologies, etc. In addition, STs will interpret the different meanings and messages from various media sources with respect to the event they have selected. In other words, STs will uncover through the CMP exploration how individual and group sense-making is connected to larger sociopolitical themes of race, gender, class, culture, power, nation, and political economy (Alvermann & Hagood, 2010).

Final Project

For this assignment, my friends and I created a Podcast on three useful media Platforms for teachers.

Instructions : Podcasts (audio and/or video) are a great way to learn and require carefully planned execution of content from the creator’s perspective. This will be your final project, as well as the first completed in groups. It is also a way for you to summarize through action/production some of what you’ve learned over the course of the term. More information will be provided during class, but this has been a favorite of students in the past. The result will be an entire podcast series covering the learning we’ve engaged in collectively as a group over the course of the term

My Other Work - French

Here is a french lesson I created with my teamates on homophones a-à-as. It is a lesson for students to learn inductively.

Here is a lesson on "Éveil aux langues", which consists of making students open up to new cultures whilst learning french. This is another french lesson I created with my teamates.

Here is an example of a Powerpoint I created for a task-based lesson done in my L2 class. My teamates and I, were teaching french to english students for this lesson.
